Excerpt from CHAPTER 1; PARADOX IN REVERSE

You know that kid in school that you had to explain EVERYTHING to? They weren’t necessarily dumb; they just didn’t “get” things that everybody else seemed to understand without explanation…jokes, what’s happening in a movie, etc. That was, and still is to a certain extent, THIS girl. I wasn’t trying to be cute or funny, I just saw things in black and white, always with a silver lining. Grey has eluded me for a lifetime, less so now, but only with years of practice. It was difficult for me to understand games people play, nuances, sarcasm, etc. As it turns out, this type of person is the ideal target for being the butt of jokes, pranks, and insults (directly or indirectly).
